<![endif]--><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Most of us are familiar with how people
feel about appearances, but the manner in which you speak is also important.
Even if you are dressed nicely, using poor <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/">grammar</a> will show that you are wolf
in sheep's clothing. You might look nice on the outside, but you're not so nice
on the inside. To succeed, you must focus on your appearance as well as your
manner of speaking. <br />
<br />
Most people underestimate the importance of mastering English. Only having a
basic knowledge of English will not open career doors. If you speak only an
average level of English, people will think you're average. If you speak in a
manner that is eloquent, this will create a powerful impression. <br />
<br />
The first barrier you will need to overcome is the belief that Basic English is
enough. When I say <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/spoken_english.html.">Basic English</a>, I'm referring to the English that most Indians
speak on a daily basis. While the English language is comprised of about
700,0000 words, the typical Indian only uses 10,000 in their day to day conversations.
Most educated people who have earned a degree in college, or who read lots of
books, will have a vocabulary that is closer to 50,000, twice the amount of the
average Indian. These people are much more likely to land high paying jobs. To
be successful, it must be your goal to learn 100,000 words or more. </span></m:defjc></m:rmargin></m:lmargin></m:dispdef></m:smallfrac></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">Many people have a poor command of the
<a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/spoken_english.html">English language</a> because they don't read. I always laugh when I hear people say
that they hate to read. These people don't realize that they are destroying
their chances of being economically successful. Not only does reading allow you
to build up your vocabulary, but it also allows you to become more informed,
learning things about the world around you. </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-size: 12pt;">As I've said in previous articles, reading
can increase your IQ. Watching television cannot do this, and some would even
argue that it does the opposite. The first step in speaking English properly is
to learn more words. START TODAY……………..</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; line-height: normal;">
<br /></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">When you increase your <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/spoken_english.html">vocabulary</a>, you will impress people.
Depending on who you impress, a number of doors can open, doors that would be
closed to someone who uses a normal vocabulary level. People will see you as
being someone with intelligence, and it will be obvious that you are also a
person that is well informed.</span></span><span style="font-size: 12pt;"></span></div>

<span style="font-size: small;">A number of studies have consistently
demonstrated that those who have an advanced knowledge of the English language
are much more likely to advance their careers. In addition to this, these
studies have also demonstrated that a strong command of the English language
will lead to higher paying jobs, more social mobility, and a great deal of
social success. </span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-size: small;">No matter what career you choose,
whether it is Engineering or Marketing, having a powerful command of the
English language will greatly increase your odds of success. Generally, your
vocabulary will need to be equal to those who are in the same career field.</span></div>
<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; line-height: normal; margin-bottom: 0.0001pt;">

<div class="MsoNormal" style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif; line-height: normal;">
<span style="font-size: small;">However, if you want to surpass your
colleagues, and make yourself more marketable, you will need to improve your English
skills, and be superior to the other people who work in your field. While you
may not realize it, people will judge you by the way you speak. </span></div>

So here is a post to tell them what I feel can improve their <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/advanced_spoken_english.html">English skills</a>.<br />
<br />
<br />
I stated thinking about it and realized that I was lucky to be born in a family where, despite being Indians, English was the language of choice. Hence fluency in the language just came naturally to me. I only picked up Hindi once I started schooling.<br />

A lot of people don't have such a family environment. The first language they learn is their mother tongue. The next will be Hindi, if they are based in North India. Then when they reach school they finally learn English as the third language. In South India the second language is English, which is the reason why despite accent trouble they are much more comfortable speaking in English.<br />
<br />
As a result, here are a few tips that I have collected to help improve <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/advanced_spoken_english.html">Spoken English</a>.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 1 Get comfortable with the language. Read for 20 minutes in English. It can be a newspaper, a short story, a poem, or even a novel.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 2 Develop your written language. If you don't have the requisite vocabulary you won't be able to communicate.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 3 Start Speaking. Try out your spoken English on anyone who will be able to respond to you. Don't be afraid of making mistakes.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 4 Keep your ears open for the accent. Watch the English news on Television. Watch BBC for the British Accent, CNN for the American Accent and NDTV 24/7 for the urban Indian Accent.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 5 Record yourself. Listen to your voice and catch your pronunciation mistakes. Make a deliberate effort to avoid them.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 6 Grammar is important. The parts of speech, tenses, form of verb, articles and modals all contribute to fluency. Make an effort to learn them.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 7 Make the Dictionary your best friend. To date I head for it when confronted with a new word. Familiarize yourself with its meaning and use it in a sentence that very day.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 8 Have someone proficient read aloud to you. A storybook or a newspaper article will do. Watch how they move their lips while pronouncing certain words.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 9 Learn one new word a day. To increase your active vocabulary start memorizing the meaning of a word you had heard but were not sure of. Use it regularly to absorb it into your vocabulary.<br />
<br />
Tip No # 10 Start writing a Diary. It will allow you to practice the language in a totally non threatening environment. Write one entry of at least 100 words everyday.<br />
<br />
Consequently your Spoken English will improve, but not if you are lacking in commitment. It's all very well to be pumped up today about learning the language and forgetting all about it tomorrow.<br />
<br />
Always remember the skills involved in any language are Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. Any single one can't be developed in isolation<br />

<br /></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-size: x-large;">Ever </span>wished you had the power to <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/personality_development-1.html"><strong><span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD6">change yourself</span></strong>?</a> If you don’t like the
person you are right now, what’s stopping you from becoming the person
you want to be? Some people undergo bouts of depression, because they
would have their lives differently from what’s happening to them at
present. But the <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD3">power to change</span></span>
yourself into a better you starts with knowing that you are in control.</div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><span id="more-2572"></span></span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><strong><span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD4">Make a list</span> of the
things you hate about yourself.</strong> Naturally, it’s harder for
oneself to come up with negative attributes you have. But since your
goal is <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/personality_development-1.html"><span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD5">personal development</span></a>, you
have to be as precise as you can. Changing yourself will only be
possible <span class="IL_AD" id="IL_AD7">if you know</span> exactly what
you want to change. Then make a list of the things you love about
yourself. If you know your assets and your potentials, you will also
know exactly where to start.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">Changing oneself should be <strong>more than just a mental
transformation.</strong> You may believe that you have transformed from
selfish to generous when actually you haven’t really changed at all!
Make your changes more physical, by making a habit out your proposed
changes. If you want to be generous, you can sign up for volunteer work
on weekends. If you want to be slimmer, enroll in a gym class. Do
actions which will compel you to commit so you can truly achieve your
newly-improved self.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><strong>Start today.</strong> Remember that changing is a complicated
process. A lot of things that you do are deeply ingrained in your
<a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/personality_development-1.html">personality</a>. It’s not easy. And it may take years for you to break your
old habits and learn new ones. If you plan to be a changed person just
before you have kids or for your kids to grow up, then better start now.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;"><strong>Check yourself.</strong> Keep your list in your pocket (just
like Rahul in <em>My Name is Rahul</em>). This way, you can always remind
yourself of those things that you want changed about yourself.</span></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: small;">Remember. It takes time and it’s difficult. But don’t give up so
easily.</span></div>

<a href="http://www.ruf.rice.edu/%7Eevolve/images/emailIcon.png" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.ruf.rice.edu/%7Eevolve/images/emailIcon.png" width="305" /></a></div>
<div style="font-family: "Trebuchet MS",sans-serif;">
<span style="font-size: x-large;"> <b>Good Email Manners</b></span> - here are some simple yet effective tips for
using email more efficiently:<br /><br />1. If you are sending an email to
multiple people, put their email addresses in the BCC field and your
own email address in the To: field. No one likes to share their private
email address with strangers.<br /><br />2. The email subject should be
detailed enough to give the recipient an idea about the email content
without having to open it. Single words like "Hi" or "Hello" or "Help"
are a strict no-no. Think of meaningful but short titles.<br /><br />3. Do
not attach large attachments in your email since not everyone is on a
broadband connection. If you have to send a large file over email,
upload it to services like Yousendit and then pass on the link in the
email.<br /><br />4. If you have to email more than two documents as
attachments, zip them in one file. Doing so would ensure that your
friend won't miss downloading any file.<br /><br />5. Do not write an email
while you are drunk or in a really bad mood. It would reflect on the
style of your writing.<br /><br />6. Do not request a Read Notification
Receipt.<br /><br />7. Always reply to emails especially the ones
specifically addressed to you. The sender is still waiting to hear from
you.<br /><br />8. Keep you email message short and to the point. Sentences
like "I hope this email finds you alive and well" look good only in
letter correspondence.<br /><br />9. Do not hit the Send button without
doing a spell check. An email with spelling mistakes or grammatical
errors indicate that you have written the message in a non-serious mood
and may convey a bad impression. Always read the message before
broadcasting it to the world.<br /><br />10. You may want to remove your
personal mobile number and the home number from the email signature if
you are participating in a big mailing list. You never know the kind of
people who have subscribed to that list.

<br />
Speaking with an accent that others understand
is important to non-native English speakers. Ensuring that your accent is
reduced will take a little time and dedication but the rewards will be well
worth your time.<br />Step 01 <div>
Spend 30 minutes a day reading out loud. Choose a simple book
to read. Take your time pronouncing the words in the book. Pay attention to the
sounds of the letters as they come out of your mouth. If possible, enlist the
help of a neighbor, friend, spouse, or child to help you correct words you may
be saying incorrectly.<br />Step <span itxtvisited="1">2</span><br />Watch English TV and movies. Imitate words and phrases that
you here while watching. Listen carefully to how the actors say words and
imitate them as best as possible. When you can, use subtitles so that you are
able to see how words are spelled and correct any words you are hearing
wrong.<br />Step <span itxtvisited="1">3</span><br />Practice often. Make friends who speak English and have them
listen to you speak. . Ask them to correct words that you say that are hard to
understand. Request that these friends say words slowly that you are
mispronouncing. Ask them to repeat these words until you are able to say them
correctly.<br />Step <span itxtvisited="1">4</span><br />Over-enunciate your words. This is especially true for the
endings of words. Make sure that your -ed's and -s's are well understood as you
speak.<br /><br />Visit us at : <a href="http://www.letstalk.co.in/">http://www.letstalk.co.in</a> Institute for English Speaking courses, Personality Development, Accent Training, Business English, Ielts and Tofel in Mumbai<br />

<a href="http://www.acsjaipur.com/images/iterview_skill.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://www.acsjaipur.com/images/iterview_skill.jpg" width="252" /></a><b><span style="font-size: large;">Abraham Lincoln, one of
the most influential presidents of USA, has said, “If I was given six
hours to chop a tree, I would spend the first four sharpening the axe.”</span></b>
This saying suggests how good <strong>job interview preparation</strong>
is advantageous in one’s life. Your interview session may last for
twenty minutes, thirty minutes, or an hour, but you have to prepare
yourself for much longer period. <br />
<br />
By preparing ahead of an ensuing interview, you have given
yourself a distinct advantage. Many of the job-seekers develop a belief
that they are smart enough to tackle the interview successfully and
there is need for specific preparation for an interview. However, this
belief turns to be fallacious and they do not fair as well in the
interview as they should have done. This happens not because of their
lack of competence but because of lack of their right mental framework
in the interview process. <br />
<br />
Therefore, there is a need for specific preparation for an
interview. One great army general has said, “If you shed more sweat in
peace, you will have to shed less blood in a battle.” What is true for a
battle is true for an interview too. Therefore, keep yourself fully
prepared before you face an interview. This preparation will help you
in two ways. First you will never feel surprised or awkwardness even if
you face any unexpected question from the interviewers. Second when
you have prepared yourself fully, you develop confidence in you.
Because of this confidence, you can do much better than when you have
not prepared yourself fully. <br />
<br />
Your preparation should revolve around the following aspects:
Click accordingly </div>
<ul>
<li>Know yourself fully.</li>
<li>Research the organization.</li>
<li>Research the job requirements.</li>
<li>Prepare technical questions.</li>
<li>Prepare informational and behavioral questions.</li>
<li>Rehearse standard questions.</li>
<li>Have mock interview.</li>
</ul>

<span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: orange; font-size: large;"> </span>The poster boy. This is who I have been for
most of my life with respect
to the issues I'm about to address.<br /><br />
Most humans are really just sleep walking through their lives. Society
tells us that if we have this car, we are somehow better than another,
that if we live in this type of home we are somehow better than another.
If we have this type of clothes, again, we are somehow better.<br /><br />
<u>But the real story is that the woman or man is doing all this <b>to
be liked</b></u>.<br /><br />
I just bought this car. Do you like me now?<br />
I just bought this house. Do you like me now?<br />
I just bought this Hugo Boss suit, this outfit. Do you like me now?<br /><br />
<b>If we really think about it, we just want to be liked</b>. From the
executive to the janitor, we just want to be liked. We are all
struggling!<br /><br />
It makes one ask questions of who they like and why they like them?<br />
It should be the person inside, that something about them. It's not what
their assets are; rather their asset is who they are.<br /><br />
<b>Each of us, every person, has a wonderful story in them</b>. Truly.
We are all children of God. At times we just need to stop, reflect, and
perhaps quit running from ourselves.<br /><br />
It's interesting; so many people are trying to find God. Many get
involved in a religion only to jump to another. In a lot of cases they
are not looking for God at all. Many are joining nothing dis-similar
than a gym or a club, per say. They just want to be around people that
perhaps have a similar interest. Or mostly just to feel like they
belong.<br /><br />
Most of our lives it is just that. <b>We just want to
belong! To be liked, needed, or be loved!</b> We just need to be
truly honest with ourselves and question our purpose in each thing we
do. That God is in each of us, not something to go searching for, but
searching within ourselves. And in that lies the answer.<br /><br />
<b>Each of us holds a beautiful story only to be told. We are all
capable of the most beautiful things.</b><br /><br />
The mind is a very powerful organ. Albert Einstein stated that we only
use 10% of the brain. <br /><br />
But I never forgot it and now years later, I understand.<br /><br />
<b>Most people don't want to think</b>. Thomas Edison wrote: "Five
percent of the people think, 10 percent of the people think they think,
and the other 85 percent would rather die than think."<br /><br />
<b>We are conditioned in ways from media/society not to think</b>. We
are banged and banged over the head from ads and media to be this and
that and not to think.<br /><br />
Mother Teresa once said: "One of the greatest diseases is to be nobody
to anybody."<br /><br />
<b>We need to stop and take ownership of our lives. To realize and
accept that happiness isn't in possessions. In us,
lies the happiness</b>. When we realize this, one has another
type of life; a calm, a peace, a joy. A life that we never thought was
possible. </span></div>

<br />
Michel Lotito (born 1950) is a French entertainer, famous as the
consumer of undigestables, and is known as Monsieur Mangetout (Mister
Eat-it-all). <br />
Lotito's performances are the consumption of
metal, glass, rubber and so on in items such as bicycles, televisions, a
Cessna 150, and smaller items which are disassembled, cut-up and
swallowed. The aircraft took roughly two years to be 'eaten' from 1978
to 1980.<br />
He began eating unusual material while a child and has
been performing publicly since 1966. Lotito does not often suffer
from ill-effects due to his diet, even after the consumption of
materials usually considered poisonous. <br />
When performing he
consumes around a kilogram of material daily, preceding it with mineral
oil and drinking considerable quantities of water during the 'meal'. <br />
He apparently possesses a stomach and intestine with walls of twice
the expected thickness, and his digestive acids are, allegedly,
unusually powerful, allowing him to digest a certain portion of his
metallic meals.<br />

navigate around the world. With no guide-dogs, he doesn't even

But people with amazing abilities actually do exist in real life; here's a list of 10 of the most amazing of these people!<br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><b>The Incredible Brain (Daniel Tammet)</b></span><br />Daniel Paul Tammet is a British high-functioning autistic savant gifted with a facility for mathematical calculations, sequence memory, and naturallanguage learning. He was born with congenital childhood epilepsy. Experiencing numbers as colors or sensations is a well-documented form of synesthesia, but the detail and specificity of Tammet's mental imagery of numbers is unique.. In his mind, he says, each number up to 10,000 has its own unique shape and feel, that he can "see" results of calculations as landscapes, and that he can "sense" whether a number is prime or composite. He has described his visual image of 289 as particularly ugly, 333 as particularly attractive, and pi as beautiful. Tammet not only verbally describes these visions, but also creates artwork, particularly watercolor paintings, such as his painting of Pi. <br /><br />Tammet holds the European record for memorising and recounting pi to 22,514 digits in just over five hours. He also speaks a variety of languages including English, French, Finnish, German, Spanish, Lithuanian, Romanian, Estonian, Icelandic, Welsh and Esperanto. He particularly likes Estonian, because it is rich in vowels. Tammet is creating a new language called Mänti. Tammet is capable of learning new languages very quickly. To prove this for the Channel Five documentary, Tammet was challenged to learn Icelandic in one week. Seven days later he appeared on Icelandic television conversing in Icelandic, with his Icelandic language instructor saying it was "not human."<br />
